Privacy Policy

DVLP Sports is built around young athletes, so protecting their privacy — and their families' — is a starting requirement, not an afterthought. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the specific protections in place for players under 13 (see Section 4, "Children's privacy").

1. Who we are

DVLP Sports ("DVLP Sports," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at dvlpsports.com and the DVLP Sports application (together, the "Service"). DVLP Sports is currently operated directly by its founders while a company is being formed to hold the business; this policy applies regardless of that entity's formation status. 2. Information we collect

a) Early-access signup

When you request early access on our website, we collect your name, email address, the role you selected (coach, player, or organization), and, depending on your role, your current team name or organization name. This is currently submitted through a third-party form provider and stored in a private, access-controlled spreadsheet we control.

b) The DVLP Sports app

When you create an account or use the DVLP Sports app, we may collect:

  • Account information — name, email address, role (player, parent/guardian, coach, or organization admin), and password.
  • Player profile information — age, position, team and league affiliation, height, weight, handedness, and similar details you or a parent/guardian choose to provide.
  • Development Data — coach-submitted assessments, quick feedback, skill ratings, tier/score history, drills, and journal entries.
  • Team and organization data — rosters, invitations, and approvals managed by coaches and organization administrators.
  • Content you choose to connect — if you link video or statistics from a third-party platform you already use, we store and display that information within your profile.
  • Communications — messages you send us, such as support requests.

c) Information collected automatically

When you use our website or app, we (and analytics providers we use, such as Google Analytics) may automatically collect device information, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar usage data, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including the Athlete Passport and development record described on our website.
  • Create and manage accounts, including parent-managed accounts for players under 18.
  • Enable coaches to submit, and players/parents to view, verified feedback and assessments.
  • Communicate with you about early access, product updates, and — only if you don't opt out — occasional product news.
  • Monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information for targeted advertising.

4. Children's privacy (COPPA)

  • DVLP Sports is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from, children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
  • Any player account for a child under 13 must be created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian provides the account information, agrees to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service on the child's behalf, and can review, edit, or delete the child's information at any time.
  • We collect only the information reasonably necessary for a child's player profile and development record — for example, name, team, position, and coach-submitted assessments — and we do not enable public social features (such as public messaging or public profile search) on accounts identified as belonging to a child under 13.
  • Parents/guardians can contact us at hello@dvlpsports.com at any time to review the personal information we've collected about their child, request correction or deletion, or refuse further collection or use of it. We will honor such requests except where limited retention is required by law or to preserve the integrity of a shared team record.
  • We do not condition a child's participation on disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
  • If we learn we've collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

  • With the coaches, teams, and organizations a player is connected to, so the Service can function.
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf — our hosting provider (Vercel), our current form and spreadsheet provider (Google), and our analytics provider (Google Analytics) — each permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • If DVLP Sports is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or incorporation of the business, in which case we'll ensure the recipient is bound by protections at least as protective as this policy, and we'll notify affected users.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service — including maintaining a player's development record over time, which is the core purpose of the Service — to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time, subject to Section 4 above.

7. Your rights and choices

Regardless of where you live, you can contact hello@dvlpsports.com to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your or your child's personal information.
  • Opt out of non-essential email communications (every email includes a link).
  • Withdraw consent previously provided, where applicable.

If you're in Canada, we collect, use, and disclose personal information consistent with applicable Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA and equivalent provincial legislation); you can raise concerns with us first and, if unresolved, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you're in the United States, we take reasonable steps consistent with applicable state privacy laws to honor the requests above.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

DVLP Sports operates across Canada and the United States, and the service providers listed in Section 5 may process and store information in either country. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than the one in which you reside.

10. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns, which may use cookies or similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
